Amsterdam > Netherlands

My first time in Amsterdam, what a wonderful experience it was. We stayed at Sheraton Hotel near the Airport, which is only two stops away from the city by train. On our first day, we just walked around the city for awhile since we arrived in Amsterdam at 4pm and feeling like a zombie after 14 hours flight and 5 hours transit in Dubai. As soon as I walked out from the train station, I was amazed by the view. The long walk river surrounded by old medium-rise buildings. Didn't do much on the first day. My pictures are mostly from my snapchat and iPhone so I'm sorry for the lack of quality. Couldn't even be bothered to edit the pictures. Yes, I am probably the worst travel blogger out there but oh well, keeping it real. Hahah.

P/S - I bring my teddy bear everywhere I travel to and his name is Kiky. =)

Second day in Amsterdam. We hired a private tour guide that drove us around the country side of Netherlands. 75euros per hour. Yes, bloody expensive. But it was definitely worth it (I wasn't the one who paid so.... mehhhh =p). First stop, we went to Keukenhof, which is a flower park. You definitely need at least half a day to cover the whole park but it was just mainly tulips and playgrounds etc. Great place for family photos and also for those of you who are instagram whores (me). However, this park only opens for 10 weeks every year, during Spring (heads up!).

Next stop, we visited the windmills in Kinderdijk. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so it was pretty gloomy and wet. You should definitely get the boat ride around the river, it will take you to the other side of the river, the residential area. The houses are so cute I can't deal!! Try the hot chocolate in the small shops, they're just simply amazing.

Next, we went to Fisherman Village (I might be wrong with the name - sorry). Here they have loads of souvenir shops, bars, chocolate shops, waffles, and seafood restaurants. Walking along the houses with ocean view was just... Yaaasss..... Kinda feel sorry for those who live there though, legit no privacy at all. I could see a woman doing her dishes and family dining in for dinner as I walked pass the houses, and imagine having hundreds of people walking pass everyday. Damn.

Last stop was a small island, which I can't remember the name. Whoops. But we were only there for 20 minutes since there was nothing much but farms and cute animals. Also, it started raining. =/

Third day in Amsterdam. I would personally recommend you guys NOT to go for tour busses in Amsterdam. Should totally explore the city by walking or cycling. The streets are so beautiful, so symmetrical and well laid out you're just drawn to explore every single street! All you need is a map in your hand and you won't get lost cause the streets are not complicated at all. Even so, its part of the adventure!

We started walking from the Central Station to Anne Frank's house. Unfortunately, the queue was way too long and that was our last day to explore Amsterdam. Then, we walked to Rijks Museum, which was a.. ma.. zing... Entrance fee was around 18euros, definitely worth it. But you need around 2 hours to explore the whole museum cause it's freaking huge. Wanted to go to Von Gogh Museum as well but again, long queue. I would advice you guys to buy your tickets online rather than at the door and also visit the museums before 11am. That way, you don't have to deal with the queue.

We continued walking around the city and when we reached the Central we went for a Canal Cruise. 13euros for one hour ride. I would say if its not too cold, definitely go for the open-air cruise rather than the closed ones. Better view, better atmosphere and fresh air!! Later on we went to this tiny funfair near the Central. Not too sure if its an ongoing thing or just during summer/spring. I am an adrenaline junkie and this fair was more for kids. Went to a few rides but my fav was the swing. Pretty chilled ride but the 360degrees view of the whole city was just wonderful. And it was only 6.50euros!! YAS

We ended the night by visiting the Red Light District. For those who don't know anything about the place, google it. My kind of window shopping I must say hahah. I'm actually surprised it's legal. Well, weed is legal in Amsterdam anyway, bought some green lollies. Yumm.

Aaaaaaand that is all for Amsterdam! Really wish I had more time in Amsterdam, definitely going there again. Next stop is Brussels, Belgium. Woot woot!!
